Success at Monash GSB: Orientation 2010

Introducing you to the Graduate School of Business and preparing you for graduate studies at Monash University

The GSB Orientation Program is an essential start to your graduate studies at Monash.  The program is designed to provide you with an introduction to the University, your Course Director and your fellow students. You will receive a detailed overview of the expectations of postgraduate studies and the services available to help you maximise your GSB experience.

The GSB Orientation Day is compulsory for commencing on-campus GSB students. Off-campus students are welcome to attend, but it is not compulsory. Registration is essential.

Full-time students

Monday  22 February 2010 
9.00am - 3.15pm (lunch provided)
3.15pm - 4.15pm "Visa Matters" Essential information for International Postgraduate students

Part-time students

Tuesday 23 February 2010 
5.00pm - 9.00pm  (light refreshments provided)

Location:

All presentations for the GSB Orientation Days are at Level 3, Building K, Caulfield Campus.
The program is free and all sessions are conducted at our Caulfield campus.

Registration:

Registration is essential for catering purposes and will open online in late January 2010.

GSB Orientation Workshop series
A comprehensive program of hour-long workshops on Wednesday 24, Thursday 25 and Saturday 27 February at various locations at Caulfield campus. Attendance is optional - you select the workshops that best suit your needs and availability.  You will be able to register for the workshops at the compulsory GSB Orientation Day. The workshop series focuses on:

ADEPT

ADEPT Academic skills development
Including effective note taking, referencing, developing your own writing style as a graduate and building healthy study habits.  Opportunity to participate in a "mock lecture". Invaluable for students who are returning to study after a break or who have not previously studied in a postgraduate environment.

GSB Professional development
Designed as an introduction to the personal and professional skills required to be an effective student and employee in today's dynamic employment environment.

 

Australian culture and language
An insightful introduction designed for international students.

Reminder:
All commencing students must have completed enrolment/registration formalities with the University prior to attending the GSB Orientation Day.
Domestic students enrol online as previously advised in your offer pack.
