For students without an undergraduate degree, Monash GSB offers an alternative pathway to a master program

MBus(Acc)

Master of Business (Accounting)
Aimed at accounting graduates in public practice, industry and academia. The course includes advanced level studies in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, corporate and international finance, and investments. Students also gain insight into research methodologies and techniques which extend and support their learning and expose them to the contemporary issues and problems confronting modern accountants and finance specialists.


MProfAcc

Master of Professional Accounting
This course is designed for those with tertiary qualifications in a field other than accounting and provides knowledge and skills in accounting and related fields to increase their employment opportunities in public practice, industry and academia. The course encompass studies in financial and managerial accounting, finance, taxation, business law and auditing. The course, which is recognised by CPA Australia and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, enables graduates to affiliate with the professional body of their choice.

Two streams are now available: 

Professional recognition:
For students already holding an undergraduate degree, completion of this course will enable graduates to meet the academic requirements for associate membership status with CPA Australia and satisfies the entry requirements of the CA Program of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

The Master of Professional Accounting meets the requirement for Associate level membership of the National Institute of Accountants (NIA).

MProfAcc

Master of Professional Accounting / Master of Business Law
The double degree is intended to provide those from non-accounting disciplines with knowledge and skills in accounting and related fields to increase their employment opportunities in public practice, industry and academia and for students who are seeking a postgraduate applied business law qualification.

This program is for those who have an undergraduate law degree or an undergraduate degree in another discipline.

This course is of direct relevance to those involved in commerce, in the private, commercial or government sectors. It particularly focuses on current legal issues in today's business world in order to prepare students for the growing range of opportunities in legal compliance.

The National Institute of Accountants (NIA) recognises the Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Accounting as stages achieved towards a Master of Professional Accounting or Master of Practising Accounting.
